Rutgers Formula Racing
The Rutgers Formula Racing car is an open wheel open cockpit style racer. They are designed by following the formula of the FSAE competition, and the imaginations and ingenuity of the engineers of the team. The end product is a high performance autocross racecar that is both very fast and very agile.
The car is about 8 feet in length by 5 feet in width. They top out at about 110~120 miles per hour and can do 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. For the last couple of years the team has fallen in favor of using a Honda CBR 600cc powerplant from the years of 2007 - 2008, and due to the restrictor, output of our engine is limited to 85hp.
A recent development for the team is a a carbon fiber variable intake. Currently in the pipeline, more research and development is being done to incorporate and underbody for ground effect to increase downforce even more. Thus resulting in faster cornering speeds and lower times on the track.
T&A Hot Rods became a sponsor during the 2010-2011 academic year, and has provided the team with Amsoil products including motorcycle oil, oil filters, chassis grease, and Metal Protector spray. Feel free to visit Rutgers Formula Racing online.

Garden State Minis is a local online forum designed for the custom truck community in and around New Jersey. T&A Hot Rods has been named as the Official Amsoil Dealer of GSM, and I have also been honored to be named as a Moderator on the site.
